Hello! My name is Alex Byland, and I am the Principal of Benzie Central Middle School. I am also serving as the Director of Special Education and 504 Coordinator for the district.

 I am incredibly excited to to be a part of such a dedicated and talented team in supporting our students and community.

Forms & Resources

SEEDS enrollment is open! Programming for MS and HS is expected to begin on September 23rd.

Program Locations:

  • BCMS room #125
  • BCHS room #228

All students grade 6-8 are invited to meet every Monday-Thursday throughout the school year from 2:45 PM – 6:00 PM for field trips, homework help, activities, and learning opportunities. A wide range of activities will be scheduled with input from students each month in subjects such as:

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
  • Environmental science and ecology
  • Sports, fitness and nutrition
  • Cooking and baking
  • Leadership and life skills
  • Career exploration
  • Social emotional learning
  • Art, music and writing
  • Community service projects

Everything SEEDS provides is absolutely free! Including food, materials, and Benzie Bus rides.

Important: Enrollment is open year-round. Students must pre-register to attend. Registration packets are available in Room #125, (the MS SEEDS room) or in either main office. Both the Enrollment Form and Childhood Information Record Form must be completed before participating. Returning SEEDS students do need to re-register.

Completed packets can be dropped off in Room #125 or in either main office.
