Teacher of the Week - Madelyn Reppucci

Teacher of the Week - Madelyn Reppucci

Ms. Reppucci teaches Social Studies 6 and 8, as well as 6th grade Careers and Society. In her free time she is a part of the Army National Guard and coaches Volleyball in TC. We are so lucky to have her with us!

Q: Do you collect anything?

A: I collect stickers! I love putting them on my laptop or water bottles!

Q: What is the top item on your bucket list?

A: For me, it's moving back to Massachusetts someday for our final Coast Guard duty station. I'd love to buy a home on Cape Cod, right by the ocean, where I grew up. My dream is to settle down, have a big family, and enjoy life as a mom-just soaking up the ocean views and building memories with my family.

Q: What is your favorite holiday?

A: My favorite holiday is either the Fourth of July or Halloween!

Q: What skill would you like to learn?

A: A skill I would like to learn is speaking French! I know a little conversational French, but I would love to become fluent.

Q: What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?

A: One thing that instantly makes my day better is seeing my boyfriend, Ben, and my pets when I get home from work. Nothing beats having my dog, Kade, and my cat, Snips, greet me at the door. I also love a good iced coffee-the first sip is life-changing.

Q: Snack of choice?

A: My snack of choice is either a salty bag of chips or something sweet like chocolate.

Q: What is one thing you cannot go one day without?

: One thing I can't go a day without is talking with my family or my boyfriend. Catching up with them is always the highlight of my day and makes me feel grounded.

Q: What did you do as a teenager that makes you cringe today?

A: One thing I did as a teenager that makes me cringe now is shaving my eyebrows and plucking them way too thin. I also wore heavy black eyeliner and super orange, cakey foundation. On top of that, I was a total tomboy-I went to school in oversized t-shirts and sweatpants that were way to big for me. Locking back at middle school pictures makes me cringe so bad!

Q: What would your warning label say?

A: Warning: Face looks angry, but I promise I'm not. Please still approach!

Q: What is your useless talent?

A:My useless talent is that I know the entire States Song. I can name all the states, their locations, and their capitals.

Q: Who is your hero?

A: My hero is my mum, Julie. She battled Stage IV breast cancer for two years while I was in college. She had a double mastectomy and survived. As a single mother raising three daughters, she showed incredible strength. Watching her fight and persevere taught me that if she could get through something so difficult, I can get through anything. She has raised my sisters and me to be strong, independent, and hardworking women, and we all aspire to be like her. To me, she is the definition of strength and beauty, and every day she is my hero.

Q: Best concert you have attended?

A: The best concert I ever attended was Taylor Swift when I was in middle school. My dad took me and my two sisters to our very first concert-Taylor Swift's Red Tour. We all loved her so much, and it was such a special experience to share together. I still LOVE Taylor Swift to this day, and I feel so blessed that my dad took us. It's a moment I will never forget!

Q: What movie can you quote by heart?

A: I can quote the ENTIRE Trolls movie, as a well as Minions and Despicable Me!

Q: Favorite quote?

A: My favorite quote is a Bible verse: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths."-Proverbs 3:5-6

Q: Describe yourself in 3 words:

A: Kind, intelligent, and hard-working

Q: What made you want to become a teacher?

A: I decided to go into education because, from a young age in elementary school, I was positively impacted by my teachers. I knew early on that I wanted to be a teacher, and I’ve never wanted to do anything else. I also believe that God put me on this earth to serve others, and one way I can do that is through education and working with children.
