Welcome to Betsie Valley Elementary
The community of Betsie Valley will provide opportunities in a safe environment to empower students to learn and succeed in today’s society.
About Us
We are the smallest school in the Benzie County Central School District, with a student population of approximately 130 students. We are a family oriented school, and we are a close knit community. We are located on the corner of M-115 and County Rd. 669.
We have an active Parent Teacher Student (PTS) that supports our school, with fundraisers, and fun events to raise money for field trips, and lots of other fun activities, so that our students can enjoy them for free.
We work very hard to make sure each student’s needs are met, and do our very best to help them achieve their goals while they are in our building.
Betsie Valley is Home of the HUSKIES!! WE ARE GREAT, and GREATNESS STARTS HERE!

5th Grade
As school begins many parents and students have asked what type of supplies each student as well as our classroom might need. I generally provide all materials that a student will need to be successful in this classroom. However, students may feel like they want to individualize their materials a bit since my pencils, folders, and things can be pretty bland. The following is a list of things that a student might want to have (but it is not necessary).
- 3-ring hard cover binder with pockets (most important)
- pencils (mechanical or regular)
- small pencil sharpeners (we do not have a consistent sharpener)
- crayons / colored pencils
- red pens (for correcting)
- 2 pocketed folders
- glue / glue sticks
- wide ruled paper
- scissors
- rulers
- dry erase markers & eraser (a piece of cloth works well)
The following donations are always appreciated greatly and used in large quantities throughout the year:
- Kleenex / tissue
- Lysol / Clorox wipes
- Wide Ruled paper (wide ruled preferred)
- Electric pencil sharpener
As always, thank you for your support!

Betsie Valley Neighborhood Center's Purpose:
Create and sustain a multi-purpose community center for all ages and needs.
PTS
All Money raised goes back to our students in the form of assemblies, field trips, classroom supplies, and other events.
We are always looking for people that are interested in helping us by supporting our different events. Some possible ways to get involved: make popcorn on Fridays, bake cakes for cake walks, help children shop at the Book Fair, stuff envelopes for fundraisers, volunteer for a shift at the carnival or an activity night, decorate a bulletin board, etc.
For more information, Find us on Facebook or contact one of our PTS members.
