MARCH IS YOUTH ART MONTH - BEAN ART

March is Youth Art Month!

To celebrate, Benzie Central Art Classes have partnered with La Senoritas restaurant in Traverse City to create some fabulous bean art.

Mr. Bechler made the frames, the students worked together to make the art, and La Senoritas donated the beans and will proudly display our Art.

Check out the new pieces including Einstein, Dalmatian, Georgia O’Keefe’s Sunflower, and Lizard, as well as some of our older pieces now through the end of the Month.

Benzie Academy is the central hub for your Non-traditional education and distance learning. Benzie Academy is designed to meet the needs of our students who want  an education in a non-traditional approach while maintaining the caring relationships of Benzie Teachers and Staff.  Students are provided with a variety of options that can lead to graduation and are supported by services for the student and their immediate family that are essential to success.

A:  caring, hard working, dependable

Q: What made you want to work in a school/be at teacher?

A: Originally it was a job as a substitute teacher, then I realized I liked working in the school with kids.  At first, high school scared me and I focused on working in the elementary buildings.  I landed at Benzie Academy and found a place where I felt I could make a difference in students' lives.

Benzie Central holds send-off ceremony for Mason Childs, Trace Wenkel, Dayne Gillison, and Lane Sanchez.

The final weekend of the Michigan high school wrestling season is here, and for those lucky enough to keep competing into March, the grind was certainly worth it.

The 2026 MHSAA Individual Wrestling State Finals take place at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on March 6-7, 2026. This premier event features elite high school wrestlers from across the state competing in Division 1-4 and Girls divisions, with action starting Friday morning and culminating with championship matches.
