 Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Hey, Huskies! Let’s welcome Benzie Central’s new Social Studies teacher and Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach, Joshua Crocker.

Josh grew up in Suttons Bay, Michigan, the oldest of three boys. While in school he was a three-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, and baseball. After graduating from Suttons Bay High School, he attended Ferris State, earning his bachelor’s degree in social studies education, and Ohio University, earning a Masters in Athletic Administration degree.

He has become an excellent social studies teacher. From 2012 through 2019, Mr. Crocker taught junior & senior high social studies courses at Mesick Consolidated Schools.

During his time there he coached the varsity football team, helping them to their first playoff appearance in over 20 years and second in school history, and varsity baseball team, improve their win total every season and helping multiple athletes play at the collegiate level. Additionally, he coached freshman boys’ basketball at Traverse City West and was part of a great staff that led the program to its most successful years in its history.

Josh lives in Traverse City with his wife Courtney, and their dog, Winston and cat, Lena. They enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking, motorcycling, spending time on Crystal Lake and Suttons Bay, and enjoying all that northern Michigan has to offer.
