Battle of the Books - Betsie Valley Elementary
On Saturday, 4th & 5th grade students from Betsie Valley Elementary participated in the National Writers Series Battle of the Books event.
The "Cosmic Cows" and the "Magically Mad Meerkats" read 8 books since January and tested their knowledge against other teams in northern Michigan creating skits, designing Coat of Arms posters, and answering quiz questions.
These intellectual warriors were amazing!
Coached by Mr. Wassa, Mrs. Gee, and Miss Marshall, these 11 students were also provided the opportunity to listen to and meet one of the authors of the book "Finding Gobi".
The "Cosmic Cows" even walked away with a Sportsmanship Award. Fantastic representation of intellect and fun!
Great job, readers!
