Nancy has been in education for 31 years, 17 of them being here at Benzie Central. She taught elementary music for 12 years at Platte River Elementary, Lake Ann Elementary, and Betsie Valley Elementary, which means she has taught nearly all of the students here at Benzie Central MS/HS right now. She currently teaches 8th grade Math and Algebra I.

Mrs. Reed is very involved in our after school secondary tutoring, and occasionally will be the one greeting you while taking admission tickets at athletic events. When her two sons were students here, she proudly attended all Band, Theater, Football, Basketball, Wrestling, and Track events. She is a member of the Benzie Community Chorus and plays trumpet with the Benzie Symphony and the Benzie Community Band.

Mrs. Reed treats every student with respect, in the way that she appreciates being treated in return. She is always available to help her students both before and after school. She seeks donations from friends and community members to help her classroom with supplies that are needed to be successful.

Mrs. Reed leaves us with this, “Believe in yourself. Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do!”
