1st grade
My name is Melissa Burch. I am a native of Benzie County. I am married to Tyson and have three daughters, Riley (a sophomore at Grand Valley,) Morgan is a senior at Benzie and Peyton is a Sophomore. We have an English Springer Spaniel, named Boone, who thinks he’s pretty important in the family hierarchy. Tyson is retired from the Marine Corps, so we have seen a bit of the world, but always wanted to come back to Benzie County. Nothing beats summer in Northern Michigan.
I went to elementary school at Crystal Lake and graduated from Benzie Central. I have my Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan and my Master’s Degree from Marygrove College. I truly love being a teacher in a district which I grew up in, and one which my daughters are receiving their education.
