Greetings from Benzonia Public Library! We are excited to share our Summer Reading Program packet with you. In this packet, you will find information on registration, the summer reading challenges (with chances to win PRIZES!) and our weekly virtual summer reading programs. Things are a little different from previous years, but nonetheless, STILL EXCITING!
A couple of things we want you to know:
Registration is online at www.benzonialibrary.org. Your child(ren) MUST be registered to be eligible to win prizes. If you are unable to register online, please call us at 231-882-4111. Leave a message and we will call you back and take registration over the phone.
Summer Reading Program challenges are available to print at www.benzonialibrary.org. If you are unable to print them you can call us and we will mail them to you.
The library is currently in the beginning phase of our phased reopening. The library building remains closed, but we are offering curbside service for books, audiobooks and DVDs! Simply request items via the website or by phone and we will place them right in your car!

Imagine Your Story 2020 Summer Reading Challenge at the Betsie Valley District Library!
Who: Ages 2 to Senior in High School. Sign up starts June 8, 2020 and will run through August 15, 2020.
We are doing things a little different for this year’s summer reading program! Call the Library to make an appointment to pick up your registration slip and reading log! The Library is located at 14744 Thompson Ave., Thompsonville.
We can mail you one, too-just call us at 231-378-2716!
You can also register by emailing us from the contact page from the Library’s website and please include in your email message your Parent/Guardian Name, Your Name, Address, Age, Grade, School, and request the Child’s Reading Log or Tween/Teen Reading Log. We will mail it to you! We are working on an online summer reading program, it will be available soon!

We challenge you to Imagine Your Story this summer!!
Read 2 hours each week, mark or color the pictures on your log for that week, Color or circle each picture for every
half-hour that you read! Read whatever is interesting to you! CHALLENGE YOURSELF! Read each week toward completing your Reading Challenge!
Beginning readers can have a parent or big brother or sister read to them! We want you to enjoy reading all summer!
At the end of summer, you can bring in your completed reading log by August 15, 2020 to earn a reading certificate, a book bag with goodies, and $10.00 gift certificate to buy your own books! Also, all readers who complete the challenge will be put into a drawing for extra prizes!
We are in a phased reopening of the Library. Although the Library building is closed, we are offering curbside service for materials to check out from out Library. Call or email us and we will have your items ready for you when you come and pick them up curbside!
